I would suggest that the first use of the term be displayed as "the <em>Dash</em>" and all following uses simply be "the
Dash."

Unlike quoted strings or other callouts, the name "Dash" is just a proper noun and should be treated as such.  The same
goes for other components of Unity such as the Panel, the Launcher, and the Switcher.

I'm of the school that believes the gratuitous overuse of special type is distracting and amateurish.
