How to get permission to edit wiki pages?

Great to hear you fixed it! :)  Thanks for letting us know how too because
that is a very non-intuitive set of conditions.

Yeh, the Ubuntu One thing is a bit of a mess right now but hopefully that
will get sorted out fairly soon.  It would have been a great approach if it
had worked out as envisaged but part of the price of progress is that
sometimes a great path turns out to have been a wrong turn.  This one is
proving a tad tricky to disentangle ourselves from.  Sorry about that!
