All I will say on this one, is that I find enormous value in being able to look at the revision history of some files, particularly Makefiles, scripts and .xsl files. The information can point to the commit note and who did the edit in question. Overall, I probably look at revision history information about 2 times per week (however, I do not recall the breakdown between how often Desktop and how often Serverguide). Myself, I wouldn't delete the history.

Hello, everyone.
Before we create a utopic branch, I wanted to pose a question.
Previously, each new branch has carried with it the entire history of
the previous branches. This leads to quite large repositories that
take quite a while to download.
Should we instead create a fresh branch and copy over the extant
files, abandoning the revision history?
