I'm sure a lot of us have been in similar situations.  Hopefully we
eventually learn something from those blunders.  I'm one of those
people who sometimes likes to tweak a system to see how perfect i can
make it for myself but then break something and then wish it could
just go back to the way it was before i tweaked it!  Ubuntu let me
reinstall over the top of an existing system without even reformatting
it! :))))  Lately it seems doing that mean i don't always have to
reinstall all my fav programs (such as Gimp) afterwards but i might be
just too used to doing that now so maybe it's just that i don't notice
myself doing it.

Errr, this is the Documentation Team rather than the User Support but
i guess we can handle a couple questions occasionally
