I agree - and in fact changed to hyperlinks in revision 1501.
I do think that explaining unfamiliar terms is important, and I think
that using the terms can be important too. These are terms which the
designers have specifically created for users, not just for
developers, and which are used around the internet on a regular basis,
and part of our job when writing help is to teach users, as well as to
help them. Even if a user goes to the help to look at one page at a
time, we can still achieve that by using linking to allow them to
discover what different terms mean. Next time they come to the help,
they will know what that term is and won't need to follow the
hyperlink.
