I'm currently at the GUADEC conference, where I've been spending some
time creating "stub" topics for the new GNOME desktop help. A good place
to start would be to write the content for one of these stubs - it'll
introduce you to Mallard, and we can use it as a "jumping off point" for
discussing what we're trying to achieve with the new help. You can
access the stub topics from our version control system:

http://gitorious.org/desktop-help/desktop-help

There are some completed topics in there already. Let me know if you'd
like me to walk you through the basics on IRC, or if you have any other
questions.

This project is part of a big push to improve the documentation for
GNOME (which will benefit downstream projects that package the GNOME
help, like Ubuntu). There's a GUADEC talk called "Better User
Assistance" due to start at 14:30 UTC (in five minutes!) which you might
be interested in; it should explain some of what we're trying to do with
the help. You can watch it live online from here:

http://www.guadec.org/index.php/guadec/2010/streams

(Watch the Seville video stream. A recording will be available online at
a later date.)

Thanks,

Phil
