Two things I would like to see xml2po support that
would make Mallard translations top-notch:

1) Support for additional link titles. Mallard allows
you to provide multiple alternative titles that you can
select between when linking to a page or section. This
was explicitly done for translations, as many languages
need to use different title text when links are used in
different grammatical roles. But it's a moot feature
if the tool chain doesn't support it.

2) Support for at least some of the W3C ITS. There are
notes on Mallard and ITS here:
  http://projectmallard.org/1.0/its.html
In particular, it would be nice to support its:translate
(discussed in R012).

I should really add content to the Internationalization
Notes and Translations Notes in the spec.
