installation FAQ

I've updated the Installation FAQs at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/AugustinaBlair/InstallGuideFAQ but I have some
questions / comments of my own.
- what's the best way to link? I've used external links but if it's
going to go on the wiki, internal links would be better. How do you do
an internal link on this wiki?
- I have trouble with the idea that anyone who knows enough to be
interested in trying Ubuntu wouldn't know (or couldn't work out) what a
'graphical interface' was. Switching it round to say 'text-only
interface' is worse in my opinion. What would you do here instead?
- In line with the above, 'burn a CD' is more likely to be confusing
especially when we're talking ISOs. I've copped out by putting the
purchase option first and then saying 'if you know how to burn an ISO
you can download it too'. The real issue here is that I'd need to link
to an external site to describe how to burn an ISO with Windows. Since
the user could be coming from XP, Vista or W7 that could mean multiple
links and any external target could disappear. Advice?
- while I understand the idea of having the information on the same
page, that does make for double work in updating documentation. If I'm
going to an FAQ, I'm not necessarily looking for the answer right there,
but I do expect it to help me find the right information in the mass of
information available. That's what I was going for and I still,
personally, think that's the better option. Otherwise you're likely to
end up with 2 conflicting sources of information that will be more
confusing.
