Hi everyone. I've just joined and am looking to help wherever I can. I
have an IT background, specialising in collaboration, and writing is a
hobby. I've been using Ubuntu since 2005 so the Ubuntu docs group
seemed a good fit for sharing some of my time. Is anyone working on
anything that they need help with? Or can you suggest something easy
for me to start myself?
I'm also interested in doing some research on this group to understand
how team culture affects the productivity of virtual communities. With
my background, I'm comfortable with the major collaboration tools and
when / how to use them, but I would like to understand more about the
culture of virtual teams so I'm currently studying a Masters of Applied
Anthropology. If anyone is interested in helping me, I'd like to
interview 10 - 15 members of this community on your perceptions of the
culture and how it impacts your ability to contribute. Interviews will
last less than an hour and will be confidential, but a summary of the
results will be available to anyone interested. There are more details
on my profile page at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DocumentationTeam/Anthropologist. Let me know
if this is the wrong place for it.
