Using Mallard for Xubuntu documentation

Hi All,

With the Lucid release cycle getting underway (already?) I wanted to see how
people would feel if I used Mallard for Xubuntu documentation. Xubuntu docs
are in need of an overhaul, and I have the option of basing my docs off of
Ubuntu's documentation using docbook, or giving them a go using Mallard.

The Xfce project is going to be using Mallard for the Xfce docs, and so it
seems as though it would make sense to use Mallard for the Xubuntu docs to
allow the best integration (in the long-term) between the documentation
sets. There are a couple of other reasons for why it may work well to use
Mallard for Xubuntu docs. In one way it could serve as a good testbed for
the Ubuntu docs, highlighting any kinks that might need to be worked out
before the Ubuntu documentation was transitioned to Mallard. Also, members
of the GNOME documentation team have been responsive to questions that
writers have posed to the GNOME doc team ML.

I know that others have voiced some concerns about Kubuntu, Ubuntu, and
Xubuntu docs getting too divergent, though. Feel free to share any thoughts
or concerns that you may have. Thanks,

Jim
