In my first email I sought to explain why this wouldn't work. You
haven't yet addressed what I said in that email, although if you have
some solutions for the linking problem, then I'm very happy to hear
them.
Although you are right that the "Internet" document is relatively
standalone, even that will run into this problem to at least some
extent. It's compounded a lot more for most of the other documents,
which inter-depend and inter-link as well as linking to other
application manuals and apt: links for installing packages referred
to. This is a good thing, being part of TopicBasedHelp and I think we
should strive to use these techniques more if anything, rather than
less.
Some of the documents simply incorporate wholesale other documents,
and a PDF of those would be totally useless (e.g. "New to Ubuntu",
"Files, Folders and Documents", "Advanced Topics").
