First time user

Hello, am a first time user of Ubuntu and not a programmer.I found it a nightmare reading through all those documentation materials. Could anyone help me how to install NVidia Drivers, DVD and other multimedia codecs, SWF plug-in for firefox, etc. OFFLINE? I dont have internet connection at home. Thanks very much.
