Where is that stated? I thought Mark Shuttleworth's objective was to
remove Windows dominance of the market (Bug #1).
I'm not arguing that we are doing something wrong, just that I think
obfuscating the command line is nonsense from an HCI point of view
because iconography and symbolic representation are not actually as
intuitive as typing a command (in some circumstances). It shouldn't be
CLI for advanced users - it should be introduced early although I agree
kept simple.
For example, right clicking a file in nautilus and selecting copy then
clicking in another folder and selecting paste is less obvious than "cp
from to". Now you may argue that you need to know that cp is an
abbreviation of copy but you also need to know that you can right click
in the previous scenario and the function of paste.
Not arguing, just throwing it out there.
