Hi There

After sponging off the community for the last 8 years, I am finally pulling
my finger out and contributing back to Ubuntu!

I have been using Linux for the past 8 years, but only the last 2 have seen
me completely get rid of that "other operating system" and I now run Ubuntu
on both my desktop and my laptop. I have gotten so keen this year that I
started my own website (www.ilovemylinux.com) which is a collaborative blog
about our personal adventures in the FOSS/Linux world.

I would like to join the Ubuntu Documentation team and as such would greatly
appreciate a mentor to help get me started and working in the right
direction. As for which particular areas of Ubuntu I would be most
interested in, I am not sure yet, but I do enjoy trying to get games to work
either natively or through wine, and love the compiz 3d desktop. I am also
very interesting in virtualisation and how to get a virtual copy of windows
running under Ubuntu. I am however keen to write for any particular area as
a starting point.

I have applied for membership on the Ubuntu Documentation Students group in
launchpad this morning.

Thanks,
--Michael
