Excellent work! Your patch validated first time and is pretty much
spot-on in terms of content. Could I suggest a couple of small changes,
though?
1. Could you change the title of the section to something like
'Installing packages without an Internet connection'? It's more explicit
than 'offline'.
2. Could you change "Ubuntu 7.04_Feisty Fawn" to "Ubuntu 7.10_Gutsy
Gibbon", as we'll be releasing these docs for Gutsy only.
3. Could you split the lengthier sets of instructions up into steps?
This makes them easier to follow. You can use the <procedure> and <step>
tags to do this, e.g.:
<para>To enable <application>Synaptic</application> to install packages
from CDs which contain packages:</para>
<procedure>
<step>
<para>Step one text goes here</para>
</step>
<step>
<para>Step two text goes here etc.</para>
</step>
</procedure>
Also, I noticed a few minor typos:
* "cornet" -> "corner"
* "insert you Ubuntu" -> "insert your Ubuntu"
* "CD and Open" -> "CD and open"
* "repositories from the settings menu" -> "Repositories from the
Settings menu" (two instances of this typo)
Thanks,
Phil
