1. This is not a support list, this is a documentation discussion list. 
I'll answer because I'm nice. Everybody gets *one*.

2. Turn the wireless device to "always on" or "allow software to control 
my wireless card" in your BIOS (your wording may vary).
After that, read about ifup/ifdown. It's short for "Interface Up" and 
"Interface Down." They're what GNU/Linux use to turn network cards (and 
routing interfaces, etc.) on and off.
