website reorganization plan

Hello docteam members,

My name is Matthew Nuzum and I'm the Ubuntu webmaster. I've been in
contact with some of you in the past but I just wanted to send a
personal message out to the list at large regarding my next new project.

We have the ambitious plan to re-organize, optimize and freshen-up the
www.ubuntu.com website. This is not so much going to be about changing
the way the website looks, but about making the website work better at
its job of helping people find the information they need. What makes
this ambitious is that we desire to complete this by the end of September.

If it were overly ambitious, I would say so, but I think it can be done.
You, more than about anyone else in the community, have a familiarity
with the functionality, structure and hopefully also the problems in our
current website. Therefore, in order to make this a success, I'd really
appreciate your feedback and comments.

I've tried to think up the best way to solicit feedback. Because some of
the people involved in this project are not part of the doc team, I feel
it will be best to create bug reports on launchpad and file them against
the ubuntu-website product: https://launchpad.net/products/ubuntu-website/

I'd like to finalize the project's scope and time line on Tuesday Sept
5th, so if you could provide your feedback by 14:00 GMT Sept 5th I would
greatly appreciate it.

Of course, relevant discussion should certainly take place in this
mailing list, but once a matter is hashed out, please post it to the bug
tracker.
