Hi Travis,
This is not the correct list to ask this question, this list is for
discussing ubuntu documentation. You should reply to
ubuntu-users at lists.ubuntu.com.
I think to reset the password you can select 'rescue mode' from the boot
up prompt, and then type "passwd YOUR_USERNAME" and follow the prompt.
If you have more than one admin user on your computer you could log-in
as that user and type "sudo passwd USER_TO_RESET".
