Fair enough -- that's why I suggested "CategoryCleanupUpdate" in the
more recent thread.

If every page was (eventually) expected to contain scope notes of the
form I gave, then any page that contained neither the string "6.06" nor
the phrase "or later" would need to be updated *somehow*.

It would work like this:

* If exactly the same instructions apply to 6.06, or they needed
bifurcating but you've just done it, add ", Ubuntu 6.06" to its
     "Applies to:" line.

* If the instructions need bifurcating and you don't have the
time/knowledge to do it, add "Does not apply to: Ubuntu 6.06", and
     also add CategoryCleanupUpdate.

* If the thing it explains is completely automatic or otherwise
irrelevant in 6.06 and unlikely to become relevant again in later
versions, add "Does not apply to: Ubuntu 6.06 or later".
