Kevin,

While I'm not an expert with qemu, I have been using instead VMPlayer, which
is free for screenshots/testing/etc with the different flights of Dapper.
mgalvin wrote up a great wiki article on using qemu and vmplayer to get
things up and working.

Basically create the vmplayer image file in qemu: qemu-img create -f vmdk
NAME.vmdk SIZE and then use VMPlayer to launch the virutal machine and run
everything under it. Networking is a lot easier in vmplayer and the virtual
machine runs a heck of a lot faster in VMPlayer in Qemu from personal
experience.
I don't have access right now to more then just email so I can grab the exact
Wiki page link, but just search for qemu and vmplayer in the wiki.

Hope that helps,

Jonatahn
