I've setup my own MoinMoin wiki so I've found out some of the cool
features. Most of the autogenerated system pages are listed here:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SystemPagesInEnglishGroup
The best ones are:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/RecentChanges
Everyone should know this one.
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/TitleIndex
The link I want added to the front page.
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WordIndex
Like TitleIndex but much longer as it splits up the categories into words
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/AbandonedPages
Shows pages that haven't been edited since the beginning of time.
Usefull for seeing what it out of date. Not as good for this wiki as
it was just imported from the existing ubuntu wiki
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/OrphanedPages
Shows pages without links to them. This isn't much of a problem as
there could be external links to them, but it shows the floating pages
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WantedPages
WikiWords found in the wiki that do not have corresponding pages
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PageHits
What it says. But be careful, MoinMoin takes every view of a page
(Including hitting refresh) as a "Hit" so this is not unique visitors
or anything it is just purely views
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/SystemInfo
So you can see that the MoinMoin software is out of date. (Current is
1.5.4 I think.)
On the actual topic:
I think just adding it to the "Start Here" section would be the best.
Adding more sections to the front page is probably not the best idea.
It's already a little full.
How long should I wait before just editing the front page? There
hasn't been any objections yet, so I was thinking of doing it soon.
Maybe tomorrow.
