Report on status of help.ubuntu.com

With regard to the meeting agenda item "use of help.ubuntu.com" I
thought I would write this summary of progress made:

 * Thanks to Henrik, we have a new dedicated server which will replace
the linode - much better (rock!)
 * We are currently in the process of setting it up with doc.ubuntu.com
and help.ubuntu.com - Henrik has designed some funky php stuff (top bar
and side menu) for a front page and over the next couple of days I am
going to organise the links and such.
 * The docs which will be hosted on help.ubuntu.com will be the
quicktour, the starterguide, About ubuntu. I want/intend to add kubuntu
documents, so if they build properly, I will add "about kubuntu" and
anything else that is ready.
 * Whether to include (and how to include) the funky php stuff to each
of the documents is still a point for discussion. If we can do it, I
would be in favour, but I have no idea as yet how. Henrik has said that
he will have a look at this.
 * Whether to host translations there is a point for discussion. My
opinion is that we should make translations available to the locoteams
to host on their own servers, rather than hosting them directly on
help.ubuntu.com. This will avoid confusion and duplication, especially
where locoteams want to change the guides in some way (align the css
with their websites etc).
 * Henrik is also setting up a moin wiki on help.u.c so that we can add
stable wiki page documentation (such as the faq and any other guides
that are thought appropriate). This wiki would have restricted rights of
editing so that only we can add stuff.

Hope this helps to direct discussion on this item at the meeting. The
discussion can also take place in this thread.

Matt
