See my other post: I think it is important to have a section on using
apt from the command line for the reasons given there. As for the name,
I don't have a strong preference: I just took "alternative" out of the
air for the purposes of setting out quickly the structure I had in mind.

I see this point (hence the "if required"). I do disagree with that too,
because it is quite important that Ubuntu unstable gets as much testing
as possible by those who are interested in doing it, the question in my
mind is "can we make it sufficiently clear that only those users who are
actually willing to have a broken system for testing purposes will
follow the section". If not, we should cut it out, if so, we should have
it in.

In any event, we should have something on upgrading to the stable
version from the previous version.
