that was done by choice, wasn't it?  I thought the decision was made
in the past to push gui solution over command line as much as
possible, in the docs, in the wiki.  Wiki pages were deleted, sections
were removed, just because they were "too command line and not enough
gui" for our docs.

Personally I'm all for explaining the command line to people ,
starting with apt-get and editing /etc/source.list (which seems to be
the first 2 questions that often come up), but if you start on that
path for apt-get, then we have to decide if it is fine for other
aspect of the docs and for other command.

On a somewhat related note, just found that old specs while searching
