Called a vendor drop. In root of SVN we have a folder ready for this.
branches/  
tags/
trunk/
vendor/gnome
vendor/kde

Use XInclude or XPointer to bring in whole texts or specific nodes.

Nothing there at present, but can be. Will need SVN 1.1 to handle symlinks in 
trunk/

Speak to elmo about svn 1.0 to svn 1.1 upgrade. Heard rumours he was going to 
do it ;-)
