Hello all,
Most of you are probably been wondering who I am, which makes sense,
since I've only posted to this list once for a simple mail filter, but
I've been paying attention to this email list, and keeping my ear on
#ubuntu-doc. I'm usually in there but I don't say much...
I wrote that UbuntuHowCome on the wiki, but I'm not sure what kind of
future it has. I think for now it's a pretty good placeholder until some
real stuff gets done like the QuickGuide.
I'm 23, live in Columbus, Ohio, I'm a programming student, and I'm broke
and looking for a job. (any tips? email me directly at
thegreedyturtle at gmail.com) In case you are wondering about the handle,
it's a pet I had once. I've been working with Linux for a few years, but
I just switched over to Linux on the Desktop with Ubuntu Hoary, so it's
only been a couple of months... Everything before that has been command
line, but that's mostly been configurating stuff other people made, so
simple sysadmin work. I have also done small office administration and
networking, but with WinXP.
Anyway, I'm hoping to get more involved with the documentation team,
although I've got some side projects that might jump up in my face in
the future.
The reason I'm finally introducing myself is because I've made a new
version of the SimpleFrontPage, at
https://www.ubuntulinux.org/wiki/ParagraphStyleSimpleFrontPage.
It basically takes the SimpleFrontPage, and adds some paragraphs to
better describe each section, and puts hardware in the documentation
section. The real bones will be inside said documentation section and
Community section, which if people like what they see here, I'll try and
get some ideas out here as well. I'm not going to bulk up this email
about it since most of my comments are on the page itself.
I'll try to get my mail if I have a chance, but I'll be gone over the
weekend, so I probably won't respond to your comments as promptly as I
would like to.
Cheers,
thegreedyturtle
