Hi,
To demonstrate docbook profiling I have created a make target for the FAQ
Guide call faq-gnome. It does not currently handle images so expect the
target to end abruptly, but it does demo the solution for what I need to
show.
For those who don't understand profiling do the following:
with pwd trunk/ do 'make faq-gome'
Open build/gnome/faqguide/pr01.html and read the section called 'Text Editing'
now read the XML source
less -N generic/faqguide/C/faqguide.xml
go to line 70 and read Text Editing. Note how some of the xml nodes have os
attributes
<application os="gnome">Terminal</application>
<application os="kde">Konsole</application>
Note how only those nodes with the attribute os="gnome" were output to
build/gnome/faqguide/pr01.html
In trunk/Makefile see the command used
xsltproc --xinclude --stringparam profile.os "gnome" --stringparam base.dir
$(FAQBASE) $(HTMLXSL) generic/faqguide/C/faqguide.xml
Hope this helps people understand a usecase for profiling in our documents.
Any questions, just ask.
