Nice one Robert,

I think that when possible we should use repositories supported by 
Ubuntu/Kubuntu

These are listed in sources.list

I am not sure that we can promote using certain types of software. Example is 
the codecs where there are licensing and copyright issues. Others on the team 
have a better insight to these types of problems. I am sure they will chime 
in.

However, I think it is better to err on the side of caution. Remember that 
Canonical must agree to what we put in the documents.
