Hello everyone!
YES! IT HAPPENED!
I'm glad to announce that the subversion repository has been fully
migrated to the Canonical server farm. This means tons of cool things,
including:
- we are not abusing John Hornbeck anymore
- the repository is faster
- it should never be down ever again (or just be down less often)
- it works on HTTPS
You do not need to throw away your local working copies because of the
switch: subversion has a special feature for this sort of things. Just
run:
svn switch --relocate http://69.155.172.150/faq https://docteam.ubuntu.com/repos
or if you were working in the trunk:
svn switch --relocate http://69.155.172.150/faq/trunk https://docteam.ubuntu.com/repos/trunk
(if you don't know what your working copy is, "svn info" will tell you).
That's it! If you sent me the details to have the new account, it
should already be working. If you didn't, please do it[1].
The new repository is already working and committable. I'll be
available on #ubuntu-doc for helping anyone who could have problems with
the migration.
Thanks John for having provided us this essential service, and thanks
Elmo for handling this very smooth migration!
Ciao,
Enrico
