Hello!
I'm happy to announce that James Troup finally has the new subversion
repository working in the Canonical server farm. James, me, Sean and
Sivan we've given it some testing already, and it seems to be ready to
move to production.
So, we're finally scheduling the migration!
* *
Next monday, Feb 07 2005
the subversion repository will migrate to Canonical machines!
* *
The plan is this:
1) John Hornbeck will make his repository read-only (or take it
offline)
2) John will make a dump and send it to James Troup
3) James will restore the dump on the new repository
4) I'll post a message announcing that the new repository is online
5) Everyone does "svn switch --relocate <stuff I'll post with the annoucement>"
to attach their working copies to the new repository.
With the move, we need to re-create the commit accounts. If you want to
have an account ready on the new repository, please send me:
1) Your username
2) Your e-mail address and GPG key ID
or
2) The password you want, encrypted with James' GPG key
(key id: AB2A91F5)
Finally, monday from 21:00 to 23:00 UTC I'll be online in #ubuntu-doc to
assist in case someone had problems with the migration.
If you won't have any problems, join there anyway: we'll have a virtual
party to celebrate the new repository! ;)
Ciao,
Enrico
