Organization Maps?

One diagram I'd still like to see is a "how the various bits of Linux
work together" diagram. Basically:

[[ User ]]
      ^
[[ Monitor ]]
     ^
[[ Linux stuff ]]
     ^
[[ Hardware ]]

... except with more detail in the "Linux stuff" area...
kernel/X/Gnome/Metacity, apps alongside, etc

Not sure if this fits in with Joseph's ideas for diagrams & mapping,
but I thought I'd throw it out there!
