Hello Christoph,
I can't comment on the technical site, because that is up to the
Canonical boys and girls.
However, what I can tell you is that some people (Charlotte and me,
currently; Thorsten unfortunatly quit) on the german mailing list are
busy translating/proofreading the more static content of ubuntulinux.org
(Technical Board, Philosophy, Code of Conduct, etc.).
After proofreading, things make it to the wiki, with an announcement on
the translators-list (hopefully).
As soon as the Canonical boys and girls attack the i18n-task of the
website, they can use that content.
So, if you want to help translating, join the german mailing list! We're
looking forward to!
(NOTE: We keep the task on the german mailing list, because people, who
don't think they can translate actually don't subscribe to the
translators-list, however they can still proofread without knowing much
about the english language -- sense of mother-tongue, you know => "this
sounds strange" can indeed be a help sometimes.)
Greetings,
