As you pointed out we did wrote about it on discourse, but yes it could 
probably have been communicated better/more directly to flavors before 
landing.

FYI we reverted the change now for mantic since we are past feature 
freeze and the UI was still not ready (in addition to the problem it 
created for flavors)
