A good days work . . .
Bug #688085 -- Guest kernel hang during boot when KVM is active on i386
host
* Fix has already been released - set to Released
Bug #153768 -- External SATA (eSATA) removable disk detected as
system-internal
* Patch has been rejected once by the upstream maintainer, and the
submitter needs to try again. Set to Incomplete and added comment
Bug #470550 -- uname -p and uname -i reporting `unknown'
*This is a change that doesn't meet our SRU requirements, and would
need to come from upstream. Closed Wontfix.
Bug # 484158 -- Dynamic frequency scaling makes kernel panic (Targa
Traveller 826 / MSI MS-1029)
* Although this is an old bug, it may be due to a driver bug in the way
that DSDT data from the BIOS is handled. Marked as verified and assigned
to Colin King
Bug # 695919 -- Sony F series "assist" and "vaio" buttons not recognized
by sony-laptop
* Upstream patch already arrived in Natty - Set to Fix Released
Bug #692059 -- missing device id for Gobi 2000 in HP mini 5103
Awaiting upstream submissions and/or confirmation of patch
Set to incomplete
Bug #404596 -- failed to allocate wireless device
* This has been fixed in later kernels, but not backported to the
kernels used in Karmic or Lucid. It does not meet SRU criteria, and
there is a workaround available. Set to wontfix
Bug #405197 -- Globetrotter HSUPA Modem not detected unless warm boot
from Windows
* There is a fix in post-lucid kernels, but it has not been released
as a stable update. The patch is too invasive to include without
upstream blessing. I suggested that the patch be submitted to
upstream stable kernel and marked incomplete.
Bug #460857 -- ftdi serial driver broken in
linux-image-2.6.31-14-generic (2.6.31-14.48)
* This is broken upstream and has been for a while. There is not
upstream maintainer for the FTDI driver. The fix has to come from
upstream. Marked incomplete.
Bug # 502751 -- sony-laptop module, Vaio FW series media key (AV Mode)
support broken (patch included)
* This is a small well isolated patch and could be considered as a sauce
patch for Lucid, but only is the reorter is still able to verify it.
I've asked the reporter whether he is able to do this and set
incomplete.
Bug # 49052 -- no hfs+ journal write support by default (gets mounted as
read only)
* This is needs discussion by upstream. The patch isn't really
acceptable for us to include, and the driver it's for may be
unmaintained (no updates in two years). I provided the upstream
maintainer contact information to the reporter and set it to incomplete.
