These are valid concerns about the state of these packages, but I would
point out that both of these packages have Ubuntu-specific changes so would
not have been automatically synced from Debian regardless. If there are
serious problems with the packages currently in lucid that require a new
upstream version to fix, please follow the exception process documented at
so that we can consider getting updates in before final freeze takes effect
Cc:ing a few Ubuntu developers who have touched those packages recently;
perhaps they can help you make this happen.
Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS
Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world.
