Can Pidgin 2.6(.1) replace Empathy for Karmic now?

Also keep in mind, we aren't abandoning pidgin. Pidgin will remain in
main, and fully supported for the foreseeable future. It just won't be
on the CD, our default is planned to be empathy with the telepathy
framework. However, anyone can install pidgin, it will remain a first
class citizen on the desktop. As far as I know, Pidgin won't get
removed when you upgrade from Jaunty to Karmic.
