Right, it's not so easy. There is still hope in 2.6.30 kernel as well:

It would be interesting to see still if 2.6.30 + 2.7 + UXA would now
finally by faster than anything else, or if the previous UXA
regressions in some tests apply. That 2.6.30 (GEM improvements) + 2.6
+ EXA is possibly now about the same as EXA with 2.4.
