I've mailed the GNOME desktop-devel-list and gtk-devel-list lists about
the issue and suggested to reverting to change upstream too for now. The
topic is being discussed and has been put on the agenda for the new GTK
team meeting. I've also reverted the change in intrepid in the new gtk
version which has been uploaded today.
