Thanks for pointing this out. I have filed a bug on
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/185179
For external USB adapters the easy workaround is to unplug the adapter and put
it back _after_ installing the package. For built-in cards, it gets more
complicated. However we should be able to fix this in the package
post-installation scripts, so there's no need to have the package installed at
boot.
It would be nice though if there was a notification a la restricted drivers that
the linux-wlan-ng package is needed if prism2_usb hardware is detected. I think
many people give up on their network card because they don't know it is a
prism2_usb device and that this package must be installed for it to work.
