I think you've misunderstood my message.
People who are upgrading from a release of Ubuntu where Firefox 2 is the
default, to a version where Firefox 3 is the default, will have version 2
replaced by version 3, just like with every other application.
Those who explicitly want to keep the old version for some reason can
install it explicitly.
I'm not suggesting that anyone who has explicitly installed the v2 packages
should have them removed, though they will eventually no longer be available
from the Ubuntu repositories.
