TTBOMK, it was discussed to have public webspace only for developers on
people.ubuntu.com via sftp://. Ubuntuwire offers an shell account, just
like people.debian.org does, which includes custom web-applications,
cronjobs and such. Since Canonical seems not to be willing to provide
this, the community [1] has decided to provide such an service on a
voluntary basis.

I'd love to be corrected on this point, though.

[1] Well, actually a group of people which has named itself
'ubuntuwire', I'm still waiting for any reaction on [2]
