How long will 64bit Ubuntu users have to wait?

Well, the fact that openoffice didn't work in 64-bit created the
collateral effect of making possible, with a little effort, to run
32-bit stuff on amd64 without bringing every required lib manually. How
extra work does those extra libraries create for its maintainers?

As now they were obsoleted for OOo-amd64, they'll probably disappear, am
I correct?
