Packages for the OpenOffice.org 2.0.4 release candidate 3 are available
for testing; compared to rc1, you'll find no new features.
The packages are available for testing (i386 only) by adding the
following resource lines to your /etc/apt/sources.list file:
deb http://people.ubuntu.com/~doko/ubuntu/ edgy/$(ARCH)/
deb http://people.ubuntu.com/~doko/ubuntu/ edgy/all/
The icon styles are now available as separate packages; the dependencies
are set in a way, that only the icons for the default theme are
referenced; with such a setup, we can save about 9,5MB (compressed) on
the CD images. The downside: if a user manually selects another icon
style which is not installed, you'll see text instead of the icons.
To include the packages again as a fallback, the packages still can be
seeded for desktop, without needing another upload for the package.
The dependency on java-gcj-compat has been removed; together with recent
lib*-java uploads java-gcj-compat and libgcj7-jar doesn't land on the
CD. OOo does run without it. Please check without an installed
libgcj7-jar. That would save another 7,8MB.
Please submit bug reports to malone, referencing the exact version and
platform you did use for testing.
Thanks, Matthias
