As I'm the one who is porting the wine-hq packages (made by Scott Ritchie) to
Ubuntu (Universe) I can tell you, that wine on 64bit (real 64bit) will not
hit Ubuntu soon, because of problems with compiling on 64bit (amd64/emt64)
systems.

If you speak about 32bit packages for wine on 64bit systems, please feel free
to jump in, and add some support for it to the latest edgy packages (or
edgy+1 packages in future). I had a 64bit system once, I gave it away, so I
can't test the functionality. I even have problems to test functionality of
Wine on 32bit applications, because all important apps which could be run
with wine are failing to run on wine. (e.g. german tax software).
