How long will 64bit Ubuntu users have to wait?

I'm not an industry analyst; I'm sure you could find predictions based on
real data which would be better than any answer I can give at the moment.

You are correct.  However, that is not Ubuntu's only goal (if it were,
Ubuntu would look a lot more like Windows), and there are many complementary
ways of achieving it.
