It should also be included in the front page of the website imho, as
part of news, or an alert on top, along with the gimme line of
"upgrade to the lastest version" thing.

This is very important, just an hour ago, I went to the mall and saw a
local PC vendor still have Hoary on their machines being sold or
displayed as demo units. While this may not directly involve the EOL
announcment, the staff do have internet access and would at least know
that the OS they pre-installed is already EOL.
