Madwifi-ng tools missing

I'm not entirely sure, but the way I've been let to understand this, the
Madwifi wlanconfig does a bit more than what iwconfig currently does.

You may have noticed that you have both a wifi0 and an ath0 device. The
wifi0 is the physical device. You can then associate one or more logical
devices to this physical device. The madwifi driver automatically
creates one of these logical devices (per default in managed mode) so
that - for the most part - stuff does what you - for the most part -
expect it to, (ie.  you're able to connect to wireless networks).
However, what the wlanconfig utility does that iwconfig AFAIK does not
do is allow you to create extra logical devices.

I'm not intimate with the inner workings of the madwifi driver, but I'm
guessing it'd be possible to allow the mode changing part of the
wireless extensions to work, but creation of new logical devices can
still only be done by wlanconfig.
