You should be doing that pre-flighting anyway -- otherwise how can you 
tell whether the files selected for backup will fit on the backup 
medium in the first place?

Or more accurately, a standard graphical file move/copy library should 
be doing that pre-flighting, and both Nautilus and hubackup should be 
using that library.
