initramfs-utils and LVM?

Hi,

I just ran into a problem with ubuntu mkinitramfs. I have a local-top
script which mounts an encrypted LVM volume, which was working with
debian and the former ubuntu release. 

The script depends on /sbin/vgchange and currently does not work
anymore since ubuntu does not include the LVM tools in the initramdisk
anymore. 

How is booting intended to work from LVM volumes? 

Would I have to copy_exec all needed tools on my own or is there a
different method planned?
