Launchpad Teams Idea

It's a simple idea so I'll keep it short. I was wondering if it would be 
worth pro-actively building launchpad teams to group together users of 
similar computer hardware with the intention of subscribing them to 
hardware specific bugs for coordinated testing.

For example, if a bug gets reported against xserver-xorg-driver-ati and 
the person/s assigned to deal with that bug require more testing to be 
done to confirm it or test a patch, they could subscribe the "Ubuntu ATI 
Graphics Testers" (or similarly named) launchpad team to the bug.

I guess building the teams would need some awareness of them to be built 
up around the community (forums, IRC, etc.)

For all I know this might be done already but I can't recall seeing it 
happening. Just thought I'd brainstorm :)
